  1. RULES AND CONDITIONS

The Championship will be played in accordance with:

  • the Rules of Golf, as approved by the R&A Rules Limited,
  • the 2018 Italian Golf Federation Hard Card,
  • the Conditions and Local Rules approved by the championship committee

and the conditions herein

 

  1. FORM OF PLAY

Qualification: 54 holes scratch stroke-play

4th July: 1st round (18 holes) – Golf Club Terre dei Consoli

5th July: 2nd round (18 holes) – Golf Nazionale

6th July: 3rd round (18 holes) – Golf Club Terre dei Consoli

The lowest 70 scores (boys) and 30 scores (girls) including ties will qualify for the final 18 holes.

7th July: 4th round (18 holes) – Golf Nazionale

 

  1. ELIGIBILITY

All competitors must be amateur golfers in accordance with the Rules of Amateur Status as approved by R&A Rules Limited and in order with a valid (on 7th July 2018) medical certificate for the  competition.

Competitors must be under the age of 18 at 0.00 a.m. of 1st January 2018.

Girls: the starting field will include 18 players members of a foreign National Association with an EGA Handicap (CONGU, USGA or other equivalent) not exceeding 11.4 and 18 players members of the Italian Golf Federation not exceeding an EGA Handicap of 11.4. and within the Italian order of merit with an amount of points higher than 3.00; the other Italian places will be assigned taking in consideration the EGA Handicap only.

If the maximum number of Italian players is not reached, the available places will be assigned to the foreign enrolled players; if the maximum number of foreign players is not reached, the available places will be assigned to the Italian enrolled players.

The waiting list will include all players; in the eventuality of an entry a member of the Italian Golf Federation will replace an Italian and a member of a foreign National Association will replace a foreign. The waiting list will be ordered as follows:

  • members of the Italian Golf Federation within the order of merit with an amount of points higher than 3.00;
  • all other players by EGA Handicap.

Boys: the starting field will include 54 players members of a foreign National Association with an EGA Handicap (CONGU, USGA or other equivalent) not exceeding 6.4 and 54 players members of the Italian Golf Federation not exceeding an EGA Handicap of 6.4 and within the Italian order of merit with an amount of points higher than 3.00; the other Italian places will be assigned taking in consideration the EGA Handicap only.

If the maximum number of Italian players is not reached, the available places will be assigned to the foreign enrolled players; if the maximum number of foreign players is not reached, the available places will be assigned to the Italian enrolled players.

The waiting list will include all players; in the eventuality of an entry a member of the Italian Golf Federation will replace an Italian and a member of a foreign National Association will replace a foreign. The waiting list will be ordered as follows:

  • members of the Italian Golf Federation within the order of merit with an amount of points higher than 3.00;
  • all other players by EGA Handicap.

Note: a player with the Italian citizenship but not resident in Italy will be considered as foreign if member of a foreign National Association.

 

  1. ENTRIES

Closing date for entries is 30th June 2018 at 23:59.

Entry form will be filled in every part before entries close date at www.gglopen.com.

Maximum number of entries:

Girls:  36 + 6 wild cards.

Boys:  108 + 6 wild cards.

The GGL International Junior Open Committee will assign the wild cards by noon of 1st July 2018.

 

  1. WITHDRAWALS

Before the closing date for entries must be communicated by email at cancellazioni@gglopen.com.

After the closing date for entries must be communicated by email at cancellazioni@gglopen.com and a copy have to be sent to the Golf Club at info@golfnazionale.it and segreteriagolf@terredeiconsoli.it

2/3 of the entry fee (100€) will be refunded in case of Withdrawal before the closing date for entries or if the player is not admitted to the competition.

 

  1. REGISTRATION

All players (entered and on the waiting list) must register sending an email at the address segreteriagolf@terredeiconsoli.it between 5.00 p.m. of the second day before the beginning of the competition (2nd July) and 11.30 a.m. of the day before the beginning of the competition (3rd July) in order to confirm their attendance. In addition, players can also register at the championship office during opening hours at the golf club Terre dei Consoli between 9.00 a.m. and 11.30 a.m. of the day before the beginning of the competition (3rd July).

Players who fail the deadline for registration will be cancelled from the starting list and replaced.

 

  1. ENTRY FEE

The entry fee amount is 150,00€ (VAT included).

Only for foreign players: the Entry Form, has to be printed and signed by his own National Association to guarantee the reliability of the data.

Entries by phone or similar will not be allowed.

Entry fee will not be refunded after the closing date for entries.

Entries will be approved by the committee of the GGL International Junior Open. The committee could refuse an entry without reason; the decision will be irrevocable.

The official players status will be visible only after the closing date of entries.

 

  1. TIES & PLAY-OFF

In the event of a tie for 1st place after 4 rounds, the winner shall be decided by a hole by hole play-off over one or more holes selected by the Committee. In the event of ties for any other place the Rules for ties adopted by the Italian Golf Federation will apply.

 

  1. PRACTICE DAYS

Each player can practice on the course on monday 2nd and tuesday 3rd July 2018.

The green fee is included in the competition entry fee.

The practice round tee time will be managed by the two Clubs.

Players are responsible for their own reservation.

Practice round before monday 2th July 2018 should be reserved, availability permitting, at both Clubs. Fee will be required by Clubs.

 

  1. DISTANCE-MEASURING DEVICE

A player may obtain distance information by use of a distance-measuring device. If, during a stipulated round, a player uses a distance-measuring device to gauge o measure other conditions that might affect his play (e.g. elevation change, wind speed, etc), the player is in breach of Rule 14-3.

 

  1. CADDIE & ELETTRIC TROLLEYS

Caddie: not allowed;

Electric trolleys: not allowed;

 

  1. DRESS CODE

Soft spikes are required

Shorts, jeans e shirts are not allowed for players.

 

  1. ANTI DOPING

Policy Anti Doping, drugs and medicals not allowed are available on the Golf Federation website: http://www.federgolf.it/attivita-agonistica/antidoping/

Players who are taking medicines not allowed, cause of medical problems, have to follow instructions included in the regulations before starting the GGL International Junior Open.

 

  1. PRIZES

Challenge and Trophy for first place will be awarded to the two winners (boys and girls).

Prices will be awarded to the runner-up and the third placed (boys and girls).

 

  1. COMMITTEE

Committee competition reserves the right to change the rules of competition for the best performance of the event.

For any other matter not included in the Conditions of Competitions the Italian Golf Federations Regulations will apply.

 

 

The Nations’ Cup

 

Each Union/Federation/Association may enter a team or two teams of two or three boys who enter the GGL International Junior Open.

Players in each team must be notified to the England Golf Championship Department before the closing date for the GGL International Junior Open.

If a nominated player fails to gain entry to the GGL International Junior Open e.g. because he is balloted out on handicap, he will not be able to compete for the Nations’ Cup.

At the discretion of the Championship Department, substitutions may be made, provided the replacement is a competitor in the GGL International Junior Open.

The competition will be played over the first 36 holes of the GGL International Junior Open and will be decided by the best aggregate two from three scores in each round.

In the event of a tie, the Cup will be shared.

If a player is disqualified during or after the first round, he may play in the second round and his second-round score shall count for the Nations’ Cup, but he is disqualified from the GGL International Junior Open.

There is no entry fee for the Nations’ Cup.

Other Conditions of Competition shall be as in the English Boys’ Under 16 Open Amateur Stroke Play Championship.
